A World Without Princes
Agatha and Sophie have returned to the village of Gavaldon as heroes, and their escape from the School for Good and Evil is being celebrated as the end of a curse.
About
A World Without Princes is a fairytale fantasy novel by Soman Chainani, first published on 15 April 2014. It is the second book of The School for Good and Evil and follows the first directly, with Sophie and Agatha back in the village of Gavaldon and the curse apparently ended.
Neither of them settles. Agatha wants nothing to do with the fame their return has brought them, while Sophie enjoys it and puts on shows about their escape. At her father's wedding Agatha wishes for a different ending to her own story, one that includes Tedros, and the wish sends magical arrows into the town carrying messages demanding that Sophie be handed over.
The elders of Gavaldon promise the girls protection and quietly plan to give Sophie to the mob instead, so the two of them run. The school they reach is not the one they left. It has divided into a School for Girls, where witches and princesses live together and have been inspired to do without princes, and a School for Boys in the old towers of Evil, and the two sides are edging towards open war.
