Manage Ammo, Armour and Recovery Without Getting Stuck Looting
On this page
After a fight, get behind cover and check your ammunition, health and shields before browsing another deathbox. A better attachment is less useful if your gun is empty when the next squad arrives.
This guide covers Core Unranked on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Season 30: Marked.
Check how your gun gets its ammunition
For a gun that uses loose ammunition, collect the matching type. Keep supplies for the weapons you carry and drop ammunition you no longer need when you have time to sort your inventory.
Energy weapons have their own regenerating ammo stockpile. Energy ammo boxes were removed, and regeneration pauses while shooting or reloading. The reserve can run out, as explained in the Marked patch notes.
Watch the reserve during a long fight. If it runs dry, move behind cover and use your other gun if you need to keep defending yourself. Consider pairing an Energy weapon with a different ammunition type so you have another supply to draw on.
Match the recovery item to the low bar
Check both health and shields. Shield Cells and Batteries restore shields; Syringes and Med Kits restore health. A Phoenix Kit restores both.
Core armour uses a Shield Core. EVO progression can improve armour and Legend abilities, with EVO available through damage, EVO Caches and EVO Harvesters. Watch the progress and upgrade prompts, but choose a moment with cover before making a selection. Do not assume more shield capacity means your current shield bar is full.
If an EVO Harvester is exposed, decide whether the squad can reach it and leave safely. A resource on the map is an option, not a reason to abandon a useful position.
Decide between a revive and a respawn
A knocked teammate needs a revive. An eliminated teammate needs a respawn. Check the player’s state and the available prompt before committing to a recovery attempt.
Deathbox Respawn can return an eliminated teammate directly at their box. It takes seven seconds, is loud and visible nearby, and restores weapons and gear still left unlooted in the box. Repeated deaths increase the lockout before another Deathbox Respawn.
Clear nearby threats first. If enemies are watching the box, avoid losing the surviving squad to a rushed attempt. Recovering the teammate’s Banner and reaching a Respawn Beacon provides another route when you can reach one.
Make repeated healing easier
The Gameplay menu’s Chain Healing setting controls consecutive heals. Single lets you queue the next item manually. Auto repeats that item until its health or shield pool is full or your supply runs out. Off disables chaining.
Try the setting you prefer and watch what is queued. If you selected the wrong heal, check which bar needs attention. If a Deathbox Respawn is unavailable, read the lockout and interaction prompt before assuming something is broken.
Reload and check the Ring before searching for more upgrades. Follow the first-match routine for the next move, and use the Legend-role guide to decide how your abilities can help the squad recover.
