Homecoming

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Bunk abandons the search for Dozerman’s missing gun long enough to investigate Tosha and Tank’s deaths. Omar persuades a witness to withdraw his identification, then tells Bunk that the gunfight had no victim. Bunk angrily challenges him about the neighbourhood they grew up in and the harm done to its sense of community. Colvin continues forcing dealers into Hamsterdam while trying to relocate an elderly resident who refuses to leave. He asks the Major Case Unit to help target both the Barksdales and Marlo. Elsewhere, Daniels tells Marla that he will support her career but cannot promise to renew their marriage.

Avon wants his corners back. An attack on Marlo’s crew fails when the getaway driver moves too early, allowing Marlo’s soldiers to kill him and Country. Slim Charles and Cutty volunteer to try again. They catch Fruit’s crew off guard, but Cutty cannot pull the trigger when he has Fruit in his sights. Facing Avon afterward, he admits that he no longer belongs in the drug trade. Avon accepts his decision and lets him leave respectfully. Meanwhile, Clay Davis demands more money to unblock Stringer’s development, and McNulty’s attempt to reopen D’Angelo’s death stalls because the county prosecutor will not add a murder without a suspect.
