Big Girls Don't Cry

Contains spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Furio arrives in New Jersey, giving Tony a new enforcer whose methods quickly become visible. Sent to collect from a tanning salon and brothel, he attacks the owner and his wife, extracting the money through violence. Tony gives Paulie and Silvio greater responsibility, leaving Pussy feeling overlooked. Pussy complains to Skip about being passed over by his criminal associates, mixing his resentment of Tony with his already uncomfortable relationship with the FBI.

Janice's relationship with Richie becomes harder for Tony to ignore when he finds Richie at Livia's house. His family troubles also send him looking for someone who will listen to his anxiety. Hesh recalls that Johnny Soprano suffered panic attacks, but their conversation drifts toward Hesh's own concerns. Melfi weighs resuming treatment while speaking with Elliot. She contacts Tony, and the two return to the consulting room after their prolonged separation.

Adriana enrols Christopher in an acting class to encourage his interest in writing. A scene from Rebel Without a Cause makes him cry, earning applause that leaves him exposed and embarrassed. At a later class, he attacks Mitch, the actor who played the father opposite him. Adriana connects the outburst with Christopher's feelings about his own dead father. Christopher abandons the exercise and throws away his writing, withdrawing from the opportunity she tried to give him.
