Tarzan passes its driving test, responding to obstacles and even stopping for a stray cat. The result secures a temporary permit and encourages In-jae to pursue a smart city project against Morning Group. Dal-mi hesitates because she remembers how a promising opportunity split Samsan Tech. Do-san wants to try, while Ji-pyeong questions the likely return on their effort. Trapped briefly in an elevator, the three argue over how much uncertainty the team should accept.
Sa-ha and Chul-san begin a relationship that she asks him to keep private. Do-san and Ji-pyeong, meanwhile, negotiate over the childhood letters and the money tree Dal-mi once gave Samsan Tech. An evening drinking together exposes their mutual envy: Ji-pyeong wanted the family Do-san had, while Do-san wanted the memories carried by Ji-pyeong's letters. Ji-pyeong recognizes that Dal-mi's present feelings matter more than his claim to the past and urges Do-san to stop doubting himself.
Dal-mi tells Do-san she likes him for who he is, and they kiss. She decides to enter the bid, although Ji-pyeong finds it painful to face her choice. A-hyun and Won-deok open a corndog shop, and In-jae's separation from her adoptive father advances. Chairman Won retaliates by sending a reporter information about Cheongmyeong's ransomware attack. As Dal-mi and Do-san prepare for the bidding process, the reporter arrives at their office looking for material that could damage the company.
