Angela refuses to abandon her plan to expose Whiterose, even after Price warns her that she cannot win. Dark Army gunmen kill her as he walks away. By Christmas, Elliot and Mr. Robot are working together against Whiterose, whose plans leave Elliot with little time to act. They blackmail lawyer Freddy Lomax into handing over his email, hoping to follow the money behind the Dark Army. The exchange at Grand Central becomes a pursuit when armed men follow Freddy. Convinced he cannot escape his employers, Freddy kills himself, leaving Elliot with a lead to Cyprus National Bank and John Garcin.
Darlene is struggling with Angela's death and tells Elliot that she thinks she has seen her alive. He cannot bring himself to show her the photograph Whiterose sent of Angela's body. Dom has moved in with her mother, but the apparent safety of home disappears when Janice, a dinner guest, reveals herself as a Dark Army handler and threatens Dom's family. Elliot follows the Garcin lead to an apartment and discovers too late that it is a trap. His captors inject him with an overdose, and he loses consciousness. They then revive him, and Price appears beside him, turning the apparent execution into an unexpected meeting.
