Spoilers for this episode and earlier episodes.

Elliot's call with Tyrell offers no clear account of the missing days. Mr. Robot ends it, and news of Gideon's murder deepens Elliot's panic. He takes Adderall obtained through Leon, hoping that staying awake will prevent Mr. Robot from taking over. A terrifying vision of men forcing cement into his mouth gives way to Elliot vomiting the pills. He swallows them again, refusing to let Mr. Robot decide what happens to him.

The drugs keep Elliot awake for days and briefly make him feel free of his unwanted companion. That relief breaks down as exhaustion and distorted perceptions take hold. At his church group, he launches into an angry speech about religion before leaving. Ray later returns Elliot's journal and talks about the loss of his wife. He offers a way to talk through what Elliot is carrying, while continuing to seek help with his computer problem.

Mobley finds Romero dead at home, and fsociety begins arguing over who might be responsible. Darlene doubts that the Dark Army knows enough about them, but Mobley and Trenton fear they are being eliminated. Dom follows the murder investigation to Romero's mother and discovers a flyer leading to the arcade. Meanwhile, Price gives Angela evidence against two executives involved in the Washington Township scandal, leaving her to decide whether to act on it.
