Elliot enters Steel Mountain under the invented identity of Sam Sepiol, with fsociety guiding him from outside. A fabricated online profile persuades employee Bill Harper to give him a tour. Elliot then attacks Bill's confidence to make him call a supervisor, and the team sends the replacement supervisor a false family emergency to draw her away. His progress nearly ends when he unexpectedly meets Tyrell Wellick. Tyrell takes him to lunch and reveals that he knows Elliot framed Colby. Rather than reporting him, Tyrell lets him leave. Elliot installs the Raspberry Pi in the climate control system and gets out of the facility.
The successful intrusion does not produce the full attack. Darlene learns that the Dark Army has withdrawn and cannot be persuaded to proceed, leaving the overseas backups untouched. She wants to launch anyway, but Mr. Robot refuses an operation that would leave E Corp able to recover. Angela breaks up with Ollie and tells him she used his computer to infect Allsafe. Moving back in with her father, she discovers how deeply her mother's medical bills have indebted him to E Corp. Tyrell and Joanna dine with the Knowleses as he looks for a way to exploit Sharon. Back at Elliot's building, Shayla is missing and her phone is lying unattended. Elliot answers it and hears Vera calling from prison.
