Loki survives the Loom's explosion to find an empty TVA, then begins slipping through space as well as time while the building unravels. His friends have returned to lives that contain no memory of him: Casey is escaping Alcatraz, B-15 works as a doctor and Mobius sells jet skis while raising two sons. O.B. is a scientist and science-fiction writer who accepts Loki's explanation and proposes recreating the group's combined temporal aura. Using the TVA handbook, he builds a TemPad that lets Loki gather the others in his workshop. Loki hopes that bringing everyone together will allow him to return to the moment before the disaster.
Sylvie remembers him but questions whether he has the right to pull people out of lives they may want. Pressed about his motives, Loki admits that he misses his friends and fears being alone. He returns to the workshop ready to send them home. Then Sylvie's branch dissolves around her, forcing her to recognise that the danger reaches beyond the TVA. She rejoins the group, but the workshop and everyone inside begin turning into strands. Watching them disappear, Loki finally controls his slipping by focusing on the people he wants to reach. He moves back before their destruction, then returns to the TVA before the failed Loom repair.
