Stan takes Dipper, Mabel, Soos, Candy and Grenda on a road trip to competing tourist attractions. He plans to sabotage the businesses before their owners can prank the Mystery Shack again. Dipper also hopes the journey will help him get over Wendy. Stan coaches him to flirt confidently with strangers and collect their contact information, treating each successful conversation as practice with no future consequences. Candy notices his new confidence and develops a crush. Mabel arranges time for the two of them together, while Dipper worries that accepting a date will give Candy the wrong idea. Stan urges him to agree rather than hesitate.
At Mystery Mountain, the girls Dipper approached earlier all appear, exposing how casually he treated their attention. Candy feels hurt, and Mabel and Grenda turn against him too. Stan's confidence also fails him when Darlene, a worker he has been flirting with, reveals herself as a spider creature and wraps him up for a meal. Dipper asks the girls to put their anger aside long enough to help. Candy devises an escape using the slow sky tram, a timed drop and the huge statue below. The group rescues Stan and survives the pursuit. Dipper apologizes for misleading the girls, while Candy realizes that she no longer wants to date him. The trip ends with both Pines men having reason to reconsider Stan's advice.
