Roy takes Dot out of hospital despite her written plea for help. Witt recognizes her distress, but Dot leaves with Roy rather than risk a confrontation. At the ranch, Roy chains her in an outbuilding and refuses her pleas to return to Scotty. Danish recruits three debtors, changes their names to Roy Tillman and sends them to Roy's election debate dressed like him. They copy his gestures and answers until he loses control, storms offstage and punches the moderator. Indira discovers Lars with another woman, orders him out and later accepts Lorraine's security job, telling her where Dot is held.
Dot tells Gator that Linda is safe, still believing the dream, but he refuses her offer to escape together. Munch hides in Gator's vehicle as Gator leaves the ranch. Witt encounters Danish and warns him that Dot needs immediate help. Roy returns from the debate and beats Dot; she fights back with her chain and a makeshift weapon but cannot overpower him. Roy tells her she will be buried beside Linda. Danish arrives offering to repair Roy's election prospects in exchange for Dot's release. Roy shoots him dead. From the outbuilding, Dot watches men carry Danish's body to the hidden grave beneath the windmill and dump him inside.
