The Russian brothers Vladimir and Anatoly struggle with the damage Matt's attacks have done to their business. Their injured associate identifies Claire as the woman who helped the masked man, giving them a target they can reach. Matt is still visiting Claire for treatment and gives her a phone for emergencies, but his search for Wilson Fisk has already put her in danger. The Russians abduct her and demand the vigilante's identity.
A call alerts Matt before Claire is taken away, and a witness connects the kidnappers to a taxi company. He follows the lead to their garage, cuts the lights and fights his way to her. Claire helps end the confrontation with a baseball bat. Back at Matt's apartment, he tends her injuries and finally gives her his real name, admitting the personal cost of the campaign he has brought into her life.
Karen persuades Ben to work with her after they meet at an auction of Union Allied's equipment. Fisk has a more private evening planned: dinner with Vanessa, the art dealer who sold him the painting. Anatoly interrupts their date to seek an alliance, leaving Vanessa alarmed and Fisk humiliated. Later, Fisk drags Anatoly from Wesley's car and kills him. He orders the remains delivered to Vladimir, knowing that his response will start a war.
