After the train robbery, Walt, Mike and Todd destroy Drew Sharp’s body and bike. Jesse punches Todd when he shrugs off the killing, and the others agree to keep Todd working with Vamonos Pest. The DEA’s surveillance pushes Mike to leave Walt’s operation; Jesse also wants out after Drew’s death. Mike proposes selling their methylamine to Declan for five million dollars each. Walt refuses, convinced the chemical is worth far more if they turn it into meth. Mike and Jesse cannot close the deal because Declan learns the sale excludes some of the supply and would not clear Walt’s product from the market.
Skyler nearly tells Marie what is wrong, but Marie thinks her distress is about Ted. Jesse visits Walt to argue for selling. Walt answers with the story of selling his Gray Matter share for $5,000, then watching the company grow, and says he sees the meth business as an empire. At dinner, Walt admits to Jesse that his marriage is broken and his children are kept from him. Walt tries to hide the methylamine, but Mike catches and restrains him. Mike and Saul use an injunction to challenge the DEA surveillance. Walt escapes and hides the chemical again. When Mike returns ready to kill him, Jesse says Walt has a plan to get all three of them paid.
