The flashforward shows Walt celebrating his 52nd birthday alone at an Albuquerque Denny’s under a false name. He uses a New Hampshire identity, then buys an M60 machine gun already hidden in a car’s trunk. Back in the present, Walt destroys evidence linking him to Gus Fring’s death and Brock’s poisoning. Skyler tells him she is still afraid of him. Walt remembers the cameras in Gus’s superlab and realizes police may find footage on the laptop seized from the lab.
Mike returns to New Mexico and threatens to kill Walt, but Walt and Jesse persuade him that Gus’s laptop is the urgent problem. Jesse suggests an electromagnet; they assemble one in a junkyard truck and use it outside the police evidence room. The magnet ruins the laptop, and they abandon the damaged truck. It also breaks a framed photo, exposing bank account details hidden behind it. At the car wash, Saul tells Skyler that Ted survived. She visits him in hospital, where an intimidated Ted promises to keep silent about his injury. Later, Walt argues with Saul for not telling him about Skyler’s bailout to Ted, then refuses to let Saul end their work together. The episode closes with Walt hugging Skyler and forgiving her for paying Ted’s bills.
