After Tuco Salamanca buys meth from Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, he beats his own lieutenant, No-Doze, for speaking out of turn. Walt works out that his family would need $737,000 to be secure, but Tuco soon demands that he save No-Doze, who is convulsing from the beating. Walt tries chest compressions, yet No-Doze dies. Tuco orders Gonzo to hide the body. At home, Skyler finds Walt dazed in front of the television; when he forces himself on her, she objects and he stops. Jesse buys a revolver and tells Walt that Tuco is too dangerous to leave alone.
Hank and his DEA partner, Steven Gomez, study footage of two masked thieves stealing methylamine with thermite. Hank is intrigued by the pair’s chemistry knowledge, unaware that they are Walt and Jesse. Walt notices a vehicle near his house and fears that Tuco is watching him. He and Jesse decide to make ricin and hide it in a future drug delivery, hoping to poison Tuco without confronting him directly. At the junkyard, Gonzo dies while trying to move No-Doze’s body, and Walt assumes Tuco killed him. Walt urges Jesse to leave town. Later, Tuco appears with Jesse at gunpoint, forces Walt into his car, and drives away.
