Walter and Jesse's arrangement with Tuco immediately creates a supply problem. Jesse cannot obtain enough ingredients to meet the promised output, and their first delivery falls short. Faced with Tuco's anger, Walt responds by promising an even larger delivery. He proposes changing their production method, which means obtaining a chemical they cannot simply buy through Jesse's usual contacts. The partners decide to steal it from a warehouse themselves. Their burglary secures a drum, but the risks keep multiplying: when the RV will not start, they move production into Jesse's basement while prospective buyers are touring the house he has put on the market.
At Skyler's baby shower, Marie presents an expensive tiara. Skyler later tries to return it and is accused of stealing, discovering that Marie took it from the shop without paying. She escapes the confrontation by pretending to go into labour, then challenges Marie, who denies the theft. At Jesse's house, the viewing nearly exposes the basement operation before he orders everyone out and withdraws the property from sale. He and Walt produce enough blue meth to satisfy Tuco, who accepts it and pays them. The apparent success ends with a warning neither partner can overlook: Tuco interprets a remark from his own associate No-Doze as disrespect and brutally beats him. Walt and Jesse are left watching the consequences of the partnership they have just expanded.
