Inflatable

Contains spoilers for this episode.

A childhood flashback finds Jimmy facing a grifter who asks whether he is a wolf or a sheep. In the present, Jimmy represents Mike after Tuco’s arrest and helps establish that the gun recovered at the scene was not Tuco’s. Mike, meanwhile, promises Stacey a home in a safer neighborhood and begins watching Hector Salamanca’s restaurant as he considers his next move.

Jimmy wants to leave Davis & Main, but learns that quitting would require him to repay his signing bonus. He studies his contract and finds a way to keep the money if the firm fires him without cause. After seeing an inflatable tube man outside a business, he uses its loud, flailing image as inspiration for a campaign to make himself impossible to tolerate.

Jimmy turns up in bright suits, plays bagpipes in his office and ignores ordinary workplace rules until Cliff fires him. He returns to the nail salon and asks Kim to join him in a shared law firm. Kim refuses to become his partner on his terms, but later proposes that they run separate solo practices from the same office. Jimmy considers her offer as Mike continues to weigh the dangers of confronting Hector. He does not give Kim an answer before the episode ends.
