Season synopsis
Contains spoilers for this season and earlier seasons.
Irina shoots her captive daughter Sydney in the shoulder. After Sydney and her allies escape Taiwan, her mother walks into CIA headquarters and surrenders, agreeing to speak only with Sydney. Jack distrusts her motives as she offers help against Sark and Sloane, and his attempts to protect Sydney deepen their family conflict. Meanwhile, Will keeps investigating SD-6. Allison Doren murders the real Francie, takes her place, and gradually infiltrates Sydney’s home and friendships.
The struggle inside SD-6 shifts when Sloane disappears and Anthony Geiger takes control. Sydney and Jack work to preserve their covers as the organization collapses during the CIA’s coordinated assault, while Dixon discovers the truth about Sydney and is left to reckon with the deception. Sloane returns to the Rambaldi quest with Irina, and his pursuit pulls Sydney into missions involving mathematician Neil Caplan, a dangerous prophecy, and the death of Dixon’s wife. At the same time, Sydney and Vaughn move from professional partners toward a relationship.
The Francie double frames Will for a CIA leak, and Sydney races to clear his name before Sark’s team can remove him. Will discovers that the woman in his home is an impostor and is nearly killed; Sydney confronts Allison and shoots her during their fight. After the shooting, Sydney wakes in Hong Kong with no memory of the intervening period. She has been missing for two years, and the season ends before she learns what happened or what became of her friends.
