Spoilers for this episode.
Jack and Tony must get Ule and Alama Matobo out of their safe room before the FBI reaches the house. Jack feeds a chemical into the ventilation system, threatening to suffocate them unless they open the door. Matobo wants to endure it rather than endanger his cause, but Alama opens the door when he becomes unable to continue. Emerson's crew removes both hostages. Renee reaches the residence ahead of the tactical team and is captured while watching the abduction. She sees Jack working with the kidnappers and believes he betrayed her. Jack argues that Emerson should question her before killing her, buying time as they leave.
President Taylor learns that Matobo has been taken. His disappearance threatens the invasion plan, but she still refuses to abandon Sangala in response to Dubaku's blackmail. Brian Gedge brings Henry to Samantha's apartment under the pretext of finding someone to decode the drive. Henry realizes too late that Gedge is involved in Roger's murder: his coffee has been drugged, leaving him almost paralyzed. Elsewhere, Emerson receives orders to dispose of Renee. Jack takes her to a construction-site ditch, whispers that she must trust him, and fires a shot that leaves her alive. He covers her with plastic, then joins Tony in shoveling earth over her.
