Jack reaches Omicron and confronts Christopher Henderson, his former CTU colleague. Henderson initially disables him, then returns his gun and insists that the company's nerve-gas work was a military project whose stock had been destroyed. He agrees to take Jack to the laboratory bunker. Their conversation returns to the corruption allegations that ended Henderson's CTU career, and Henderson continues to insist that Jack believed a false case against him.
CTU's analysts detect chatter matching Suvarov's motorcade route, but McGill refuses to act on what he considers unconfirmed intelligence. Audrey, Chloe and Edgar try to get a warning out despite him. When he attempts to detain them and orders Curtis arrested too, Curtis invokes the rule allowing him to remove an unfit commander. Buchanan returns to duty and alerts the Secret Service. The limousine is attacked, but Aaron Pierce helps save Martha and the Suvarovs.
Henderson leaves Jack sealed inside the bunker with a bomb. Jack discovers the device, moves it away from his hiding place and shelters beneath the floor as the explosion tears through the laboratory. He survives, but Henderson has escaped and the facility is wrecked. Logan briefly hopes the motorcade rescue can be turned to political advantage. Bierko rejects his claim that he honored their bargain and threatens to make American civilians pay for the failed assassination.
