Jack reports that Nina Myers supplied Joseph Wald with CTU's plans and arranges for her transfer from prison. Mason orders Jack away from the interrogation because of Teri's murder, but Jack returns to the damaged building and insists on completing his debrief there. Paula briefly regains consciousness and tells the team where to find the decryption code. She dies before the ambulance can take her away, leaving the surviving staff to continue rebuilding their communications and computers.
Nina demands a presidential pardon in exchange for her contacts and information about the nuclear threat. Palmer calls Jack himself to explain that he will grant the deal and have her deported. Jack then finds evidence of Mason's radiation exposure and uses it to press for control of Nina's questioning. In a separate call, he finally tells Kim about the nuclear bomb. Kim agrees to leave but recruits Miguel to help her get Megan out of the hospital first.
Tony questions Reza at the Warner house about Syed Ali's name in his computer files. Reza denies knowing him, while Bob tries to keep the investigation from disrupting the wedding. Marie learns that Kate hired the private investigator and orders her sister to leave. Palmer considers an intelligence exchange with a foreign ambassador despite Roger Stanton's objections. Before the hour ends, the ambassador's helicopter crashes, and Palmer watches the report while Jack prepares to confront Nina at CTU.
