Jack prepares Elizabeth Nash to meet Alexis in his hotel suite. Cameras and microphones allow the agents to watch, while a tracker placed in his wallet should lead them to his associates. Elizabeth manages to plant the device, but refuses to answer Jack's call signalling her exit. Distressed by Alexis's declarations of love, she attacks him with a letter opener. Jack rushes in, separates them and tries to keep Alexis alive as medical help is called.
The ruined surveillance plan leaves Jack with an injured suspect who may not survive or cooperate. Palmer challenges the decision to involve Elizabeth and tells her to wait for a lawyer before speaking. When Alexis's phone rings, Jack answers it himself and pretends to be the man its caller expects. The contact asks about money and arranges a meeting downtown, offering Jack another way into the Drazens' plans despite the failed hotel operation.
Separated from her mother, Kim contacts Rick and travels to his house, where his girlfriend Melanie is suspicious of her arrival. Teri recognises a restaurant but cannot recover her identity. Its manager knows her as Mrs. Bauer and contacts Phil Parslow, a doctor she previously visited with. Elsewhere, Keith gives Palmer his recording of Carl's threats. Palmer now has evidence of the attempt to frame his son, though Keith first wants reassurance about what his father intends to do with it.
