Switch Weapons Inside the Fight
On this page
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a first-person open-world Arthurian RPG where the publisher says you switch seamlessly between melee weapons, shields, bows, magic, throwables, mixtures and more.
Switching is the combat system
Six attack options and three defensive ones - dodge, parry, block - is a large kit, and the store frames it as seamless rather than as separate modes. The practical reading is that a fight can be solved by changing your answer mid-encounter rather than by mastering one weapon.
Mix the physical with the arcane
Throwables and mixtures sit alongside bows and blades in the same list, which ties combat to the game’s crafting and alchemy. If a fight stalls, the mixture you have not brewed yet is as legitimate an answer as a better sword.
Defence is a choice, not a default
Because dodge, parry and block are each named, the defensive layer is a decision like any other. That matters at night, when the store says there is no place for mistakes or hesitation.
Combat choices are worth planning with the build behind them, covered in shaping a build from attributes, skills and gear. And the night changes the terms, as described in planning around the Wyrdness.
