Community Center or Joja: your first Spring choice
On this page
Choose the Community Center if you enjoy gathering seasonal items for bundles. Choose Joja if you would rather earn gold and buy the restoration projects. If you are undecided, try an early bundle before committing: buying Joja membership permanently replaces the Center with a warehouse. This guide uses unmodded 1.6 mechanics and standard bundles. Restoration routes
Unlock the choice
On a non-rainy day from Spring 5 onward, enter Pelican Town from the Bus Stop between 8am and 1pm. In multiplayer, the host must trigger the opening cutscene. If it does not happen, check the entry direction, time and weather.
Re-enter the Center and read the Golden Scroll in the lower-left room. Read the Wizard’s letter on the next non-holiday morning, then visit his tower on the west side of Cindersap Forest to learn to read bundle scrolls. Wizard’s Tower access Community Center opening
Joja membership becomes available from Morris once the Center is unlocked. Buying seeds from Joja’s cashier does not choose the Joja route. Membership is a separate 5,000g purchase. You cannot buy it after completing the Community Center. JojaMart, membership commitment
Compare the work involved
| Choice | Your next activity | How restoration happens |
|---|---|---|
| Community Center | Inspect bundles and collect their items or gold | Finish all bundles in a room for its restoration reward |
| Joja | Save for membership and a listed project | Buy a project from Morris; it is completed after sleep |
The Center route still has gold costs: its Vault bundles total 42,500g and repair the bus. Joja charges membership plus separate project prices. Your preference for collecting or earning money is more useful than treating either route as compulsory. Bundles, development form
A useful first Community Center step
For standard bundles, keep these items instead of selling every copy:
| Bundle | Save one of each | Individual reward |
|---|---|---|
| Spring Foraging | Wild Horseradish, Daffodil, Leek, Dandelion | 30 Spring Seeds |
| Spring Crops | Parsnip, Green Bean, Cauliflower, Potato | 20 Speed-Gro |
Completing one bundle reveals the Pantry and Fish Tank. Spring Crops belongs to the Pantry, but completing it alone does not repair the Greenhouse: you need every Pantry bundle. Read the required slots, quantities and quality on each scroll. Some bundles offer more candidate items than you must donate. Early bundles
If your new-game options selected remixed bundles, use the lists in your save. The checklist above is for the standard set. Bundle options
Budget for a first Joja project
After buying membership, return the next day for the development form at Morris’s counter. Only one project can be purchased per day, even if you can afford several. Sleep after the purchase for the work to complete. Project timing
| Project | Price, excluding membership |
|---|---|
| Minecarts | 15,000g |
| Panning | 20,000g |
| Quarry bridge | 25,000g |
| Greenhouse | 35,000g |
| Bus | 40,000g |
For example, membership plus minecarts needs 20,000g in total. Paying the first 5,000g does not restore them immediately. If you have completed none of the improvements, all five projects cost 135,000g, or 140,000g including membership. The bridge project opens the Quarry; it is not the Beach bridge. Switching after some bundle progress
Finished room improvements carry over to Joja and count as complete. Partial rooms give no discount on the corresponding project. An individual bundle’s reward and a completed room’s improvement are different milestones.
Before buying membership, check which rooms are actually complete and budget for every unfinished project at full price. Once you have joined, continue through the development form. Joja has no equivalent to the Center’s friendship reward. Progress carried across
