Build a C.A.M.P. That Works Twice

On this page

The Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform is described as an all-new system for Fallout 76, and it does two jobs at once: it shelters you and it trades with other survivors.

Build and craft anywhere

Four jobs of a Fallout 76 C.A.M.P.: build and craft anywhere, provide shelter supplies and safety, set up shop, and give other survivors a reason to visit.
One platform, two audiences. Open the full image.

The C.A.M.P. lets you build and craft anywhere in the world, which makes it a mobile workshop rather than a fixed base. Treated that way, it answers the oldest problem in a large open world: where do you stop to repair, restock and prepare before the next trip out.

Shelter, supplies and safety

Bethesda lists three things the platform provides, which are much-needed shelter, supplies and safety. Because all three are named as a set, the C.A.M.P. works as the reset point of a session: the place you return to when the wasteland has taken more than it gave.

Then open the shop

The same platform can be set up as a shop to trade goods with other survivors. That is the part that makes a C.A.M.P. public. It is not only your address in the world, it is also a reason for other players to come and find you.

Deciding where to place it starts with reading the map in starting on Reclamation Day. The other clock running in the game is covered in turning each season into a goal.
