With Open Arms (Heartsong Presents #730)
Dani Phillips loves her job as the city manager of Magnolia Bay, Mississippi, and she loves the community she works for.
About
With Open Arms is a romance novel by the American writer Janet Lee Barton, published in 2007 by Barbour Publishing as part of its Heartsong Presents line.
Dani Phillips runs the town of Magnolia Bay on the Mississippi coast, and the book opens with the council's decision to fund a tourism campaign as a way of rescuing an economy that has been shrinking. Dani has her doubts about the plan and does not say so, which puts her in the position of working with the outsider brought in to run the campaign while keeping her own view to herself. The novel is set in a small community where everyone knows the businesses, the families and the money, and the romance develops out of the work the two of them have to do together rather than apart from it. Barton writes for the Heartsong programme, which published short inspirational romances on a monthly schedule, and the faith of the characters is part of how they make their decisions.
The line was one of several that published clean romance for Christian readers in the United States, and the numbering in the title identifies the book's place in the sequence.
