Tough Guy
Ryan Price plays professional hockey as an enforcer and struggles with anxiety when he is off the ice.
About
Tough Guy is a romance novel by the Canadian writer Rachel Reid, published by Carina Press in 2020 and part of the Game Changers series.
Ryan Price earns his living as an enforcer, which means fighting on the ice, and away from it he deals with anxiety that he does not discuss with anybody. A trade sends him to the Toronto Guardians and he decides to make a fresh start in the Village, where he does not expect to meet anyone he knows. Fabian Salah is a musician who dislikes hockey and has never forgotten the kiss the two of them nearly shared in high school. He offers to show Ryan the city, and the arrangement that follows covers clubs, galleries and a great deal of time together, while the job on the ice continues to take its toll on Ryan's body and his peace of mind.
Its headings list hockey and sports romance alongside LGBTQ romance and contemporary fiction. The two of them knew each other as teenagers, and neither has forgotten what nearly happened between them then.
