About
The Twilight Before Christmas is a paranormal romance by the American writer Christine Feehan, published in 2003. It belongs to her sequence of novels about the seven Drake sisters, and it is set in a small town in northern California.
Kate Drake is a bestselling novelist and one of the seven sisters whose family is known for its powers. She comes home in time for the town's annual Christmas pageant and decides to open a bookstore in a charming but dilapidated historic mill.
The building is being restored by Matt Granite, a decorated former Army Ranger who has settled locally as a contractor. He does not mind working in a house that everybody else finds eerie, because the job brings him closer to Kate, and there is something about her that holds his attention. When an earthquake cracks the mill's foundation it reveals a burial crypt, and Kate recognises that something which has been buried for centuries has been let out and is coming after her. The town's Christmas preparations carry on around them while the two of them work out what they are dealing with.
