The Son of Neptune
Percy Jackson wakes with no memory of his life, hunted by monsters, and follows a wolf's training until he reaches a camp of Roman demigods who have never heard of him.
About
The Son of Neptune is a fantasy novel for young readers by the American writer Rick Riordan, published in 2011 and based on Roman as well as Greek mythology.
Percy arrives at Camp Jupiter with a memory that stops at his own name and one other, and the camp is not the one he remembers, because it is not the same camp. The Romans who train there are suspicious of him, and the only people who speak for him are Hazel Levesque, who was brought back from the dead and has reasons to be afraid of what she can do, and Frank Zhang, whose shape-changing gift comes with a price attached. The three of them are given a quest that takes them north to Alaska, the one part of the continent the camp's power does not reach, to release Death himself. Riordan runs two mythological traditions side by side, and the rivalry between the Greek and Roman camps carries as much of the plot as the monsters do.
The novel follows the first book of the series and is told by three narrators in turn, so the story of the lost hero is filled in from the side.
