The Silver Eyes

The Silver Eyes is a novel by Scott Cawthon, published in 2016 as the first book based on the Five Nights at Freddy's games. Its story concentrates on the murders that took place at the pizzeria in the past.

Charlie's father owned Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where a set of killings tore the town apart ten years before the novel opens. She has been away since then, and coming back means seeing her childhood friends again and remembering what the place was like when it was full of families. On the anniversary of the murders the group finds a way into the restaurant, which has been locked and abandoned for years and is not as empty as it looks. The four adult-sized animatronic mascots that once entertained customers have altered, and the changes suggest that they hold both a secret and an agenda of their own, which the survivors uncover a piece at a time.

The book is horror written for young adults, and it leans on the imagery of the games rather than their mechanics, which allows the story to be told from the point of view of the children who grew up around the restaurant.
