The Second Siege
Grave forces are converging to seize control of the Book of Thoth, an artifact whose pages hold the key to creating or unmaking the threads of existence itself.
About
The Second Siege is a fantasy novel for younger readers by the American writer Henry H. Neff, published in 2008. It is the second book of The Tapestry.
Grave forces are converging on the Book of Thoth, a hidden artifact whose pages hold the key to creating, or unravelling, the threads of existence itself. Max McDaniels and David Menlo set out to keep the book out of the wrong hands, working under the care and teaching of Cooper, the most lethal of the agents at Rowan.
The danger they are protecting it from is the demon Astaroth, who would use what the book contains to ends the world could not survive. Astaroth has been imprisoned for centuries, and now that he is loose, the world outside Rowan's gates has already become a hostile place.
Far from home and cut off behind enemy lines, Max and his allies have to travel across Europe, descend into the fabled Frankfurt Workshop, find their way through the tangled corners of the Black Forest, and cross beyond the veils of their own world altogether.
