About
Jasmine Guillory's The Proposal, published in 2018, opens at a Dodgers game. Nikole Paterson, a freelance writer, is at the ballpark with her actor boyfriend when he proposes to her from the scoreboard in front of forty-five thousand people. They have been dating for five months, he cannot spell her name correctly, and she refuses him where everybody can see her do it. The difficult part is not the refusal but the stadium full of disappointed fans she then has to face.
Carlos Ibarra is at the game with his sister, and he is the one who comes to Nik's rescue and hurries her away from the camera crew. He is also there when the video goes viral and her social media turns against her, and since he is a handsome doctor in Los Angeles and Nik is certain that a man like that cannot be looking for anything serious, the two of them begin a rebound arrangement involving food, fun and no expectations attached. It holds until their casual arrangement starts breaking rules that neither of them agreed to.
The Proposal is a contemporary romance by Jasmine Guillory. It was published in 2018, the same year as her novel The Wedding Date.
