The Kingdom of Fantasy
Geronimo Stilton, a mouse journalist, is pulled out of his office and into the Kingdom of Fantasy, where the queen has been kidnapped and the realm is in danger.
About
The Kingdom of Fantasy is a children's novel in the Geronimo Stilton series, published in English in 2009. The series appears under the name of its narrator, a mouse journalist called Geronimo Stilton, and it is written for readers who are moving on from picture books into longer stories.
Geronimo is a nervous, overworked editor who would rather be at his desk, and the book begins by taking him away from it: he is carried into the Kingdom of Fantasy, where the queen has been abducted and the realm needs a hero. He is given a quest, companions to travel with and a set of tasks to complete before he can be accepted as a knight of the kingdom.
The series is printed with a great deal of typographic play, coloured words and illustrations inside the text, which is part of how it holds younger readers. This is the first of the Kingdom of Fantasy books, it follows the earlier Geronimo Stilton titles, and it is written so that a child can read it in a few sittings.
