The Cinnamon Bun Book Store

Hazel works in a bookshop that also sells baked goods, and one day she finds a message hidden in one of the books that she cannot make sense of. More of the messages follow, tucked between other pages, and she decides to follow the series of clues wherever it leads. She needs help, and Noah the fisherman offers it: he is willing to be talked into an adventure, and he has in fact been coming into the shop regularly for months because he has feelings for the bookseller he has never mentioned. The search takes the two of them around the small town of Dream Harbor, and the time they spend on it does something about the crush that the messages did not.

Hazel was not looking for romance when the first message turned up, and hunting down the rest of them is what gives the two of them an excuse to spend their days together instead of pretending the crush is not there.
