Storm
Wade Magallen lived as a bachelor with no intention of settling down until Storm Roemer changed his mind, and then something he would not explain made him send her away.
About
Storm is a historical romance by the American writer Norah Hess, published in 1994 and set in Wyoming.
Wade Magallen is a rancher who had no plans for marriage until he met Storm Roemer, and the novel opens with him having broken with her for a reason he refuses to give. She leaves, and the book follows the years in which both of them try to get on with their lives before she returns to Laramie, where the secret that ended the relationship is still between them. Hess writes the novel as a second chance for two people who have already been through the worst of it, set in a frontier town where everybody knows the history and has an opinion about it. It belongs with her other western romances, which were published steadily through the 1990s.
The town of Laramie, the ranches around it and the people who live on them are the same background she used in the other books of the period, and the story takes in the years either side of the separation.
