Star Wars - Thrawn Trilogy - Heir to the Empire
Five years after the destruction of the second Death Star, the New Republic is still putting itself together.
About
Star Wars - Thrawn Trilogy - Heir to the Empire is a science fiction novel by the American writer Timothy Zahn, published by Bantam Books in 1991.
The story begins five years after the events of the films: the Death Star is gone, the Emperor and Darth Vader are dead, and the surviving Imperial ships have been driven to a distant corner of the galaxy. Princess Leia and Han Solo are married and expecting twins, and Luke Skywalker is the first of a new line of Jedi. The Imperial fleet that everyone had written off has been gathered again by one of the Emperor's warlords, who has found two things that could undo the Republic before it has settled itself. The novel follows the confrontation that results.
Luke, Leia and Han are all part of the story, and the new commander is given as much room as any of them. The book begins a trilogy that carries the characters beyond the films.
