About

Sisters is a novel by the American writer Danielle Steel, published in February 2007. It is her seventy-first novel.

Its four central characters are sisters with successful but unconnected lives: Candy, a supermodel; Tammy, a television producer; Sabrina, an ambitious lawyer; and Annie, the artist of the family.

Everything they had arranged for themselves is overturned when their mother is killed in a car accident and Annie's sight is taken from her in the same crash. The four of them leave the lives they had built and come together to care for one another and for their father, and they move into a brownstone to try to rebuild out of the ashes of a painful death.

As each of the sisters finds a new purpose and new loves, they arrive at the conclusion that family is the most important thing in life, and the novel follows the four of them as that conviction settles their bond together. The story is told through all four women rather than from one point of view, and it follows what each of them gives up to be where she is and what each of them finds afterwards.
