Savage Thunder
Newly widowed after a shockingly brief marriage to an elderly British lord, twenty-two-year-old Jocelyn Fleming still aches with the pain of unexplored desire, and her restless heart leads her away from London society to the American West.
About
Savage Thunder is a historical romance novel by Johanna Lindsey, published in 1989. Its heroine, Jocelyn Fleming, is twenty-two and newly widowed after a very short marriage to an elderly British lord, and she has left the protection of polite London society behind her. She has also never had the chance to learn what her own desires are, which is part of what drives her west.
What she has instead is a restless heart and an appetite that has never been answered, and both of them take her to the American West. Colt Thunder is the man she meets there: a loner whose Cheyenne blood is described as burning hotter than the Arizona sun, and whose passion governs what he does.
Jocelyn's wealth and title mean nothing to Colt, which is part of the difficulty and part of the attraction between them. Neither the English rose nor the frontiersman is willing to admit what is happening, and the novel follows the two of them through the desert country while their families and their pasts make other plans for them.
