Ruby the Red Fairy
Fairyland is kept bright by seven sisters, the Rainbow Fairies, until Jack Frost sends them away and the colour starts to go out of the place.
About
Ruby the Red Fairy is a children's fantasy novel by Daisy Meadows, published by Orchard Books in 2003.
Fairyland is home to seven sisters who are known together as the Rainbow Fairies, and between them they keep the place bright. When Jack Frost sends them away, the colour goes with them, and if they are not brought back the kingdom will be grey for good. Rachel and Kirsty find Ruby, the red one, at the end of a rainbow, and she explains what has happened to her sisters. The book is the first of seven about the search for the missing fairies, and the two girls spend it working out where the others have gone.
Rachel and Kirsty are the two girls who do the finding, and the book is short enough for a reader who is new to chapter books.
