About
Paradise Wild is a historical romance by the American writer Johanna Lindsey, published in 1981. It begins in Boston and moves to Hawaii.
Corinne is a celebrated and scandalous figure in the Boston of the period, and she undertakes a long sea voyage to Hawaii with a single purpose: to ruin the man who ruined her. Jared Burkett is that man, and what he did to her is the reason she has crossed half the world, but her feelings about him are not simple, since she wants him as much as she resents him. He wants to possess her, and the novel follows a relationship in which both of them are prepared to hurt each other, and in which the question is whether what is between them will destroy them or settle into something else entirely. The book is set among the tropical landscape of the islands, which its title refers to.
Lindsey wrote a large number of historical romances in a long career, and this is one of her earlier books.
