One of Us Is Next is a mystery thriller by Karen M. McManus, published on 7 January 2020 and the sequel to One of Us Is Lying. It is set a year after the events of the first book, in the same town and at the same high school.
Bayview High has not settled since Simon Kelleher died. His gossip app made him the most feared student in the school, and the year since his death has produced dozens of imitations, none of them as good as the original. Then somebody replaces the app with a game: truth or dare, sent anonymously by text, with one question or one dare and a day to decide.
The story follows three students, Maeve Rojas, Knox Myers and Phoebe Lawton, as the game works its way through the school and begins to have fatal consequences. Nobody knows who is sending the messages or how they know what they know, and the book carries the premise of the first novel into a second set of secrets.
