Nemesis Games
The crew of the Rocinante has time on its hands while the ship sits in dock, and each of them goes off to deal with something personal.
About
Nemesis Games is a 2015 science fiction novel by James S. A. Corey, the pen name shared by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, and the fifth book of their Expanse series. It follows Cibola Burn, and its cover art is by Daniel Dociu.
The Expanse is set in a solar system divided between Earth, Mars and the populations of the asteroid belt, and the earlier books had kept the crew of the salvage ship Rocinante together. In this one the ship is laid up for maintenance at Tycho station and the crew separate: Amos Burton travels to Earth, and the others leave to settle personal matters that years of work had put off. Their private business runs alongside the discovery that a group with radical politics has stolen radar-absorbing coating from a Martian shipyard and destroyed the yard with an asteroid.
The title comes from Nemesis, the Greek goddess of vengeance and retribution. Abraham and Franck write the series under one name so that the books read as a continuous narrative.
