Moonsong
Elena and her friends are starting at the beautiful campus of Dalcrest College, and Stefan and Damon appear to have reached an understanding at last.
About
Moonsong is part of the Vampire Diaries sequence by L. J. Smith, published in 2012, and it moves its characters from the small town of Fell's Church to a college campus where they expect to begin again.
Elena and her friends arrive at Dalcrest College ready for the ordinary pleasures of student life. Stefan and Damon seem to have found a way of occupying the same world without ruining it, which is more than anyone who knows them could have hoped for, and the campus is exactly as beautiful as the brochures promised. Then students begin to disappear. Elena finds something that suggests the pattern of events around her is not accidental, and the novel sets the freedom of college life against a threat that has travelled with the group from their old home.
Smith writes paranormal romance with a large cast and a taste for secrets, and this volume continues a series that has already killed and revived several of its characters. It is a story about how difficult it is to start over in a new place when the people with you are the ones who remember exactly what happened last time.
