Legendary is a fantasy novel by the American writer Stephanie Garber, published by Flatiron Books in 2018 and the second book of the Caraval series.
Donatella Dragna has got out of her father's house and prevented her sister Scarlett from being married off, which was the point of everything she did in the first book. What she has not done is settle the bargain she made with a criminal in order to achieve it. The price is the true name of Legend, the master of the Caraval competition, which nobody has ever been able to discover. Tella enters the game again in order to get it, and the competition puts her in the way of the heir to the throne, a love affair that is not going to end well and a set of secrets that includes her own sister's.
The competition is the same one her sister survived, and this time Tella is the one playing. The bargain has to be settled by the end of the competition, because the alternative is losing everything she has left, which by then includes her life.
