Lawman

Lawman is a romance novel by the American writer Diana Palmer, published by HQN in 2007.

Garon Grier works as an FBI agent in San Antonio and has come to Jacobsville to buy a ranch and try to fix the divisions in his own family. He is not looking for a relationship. Grace Carver grew up in the town, and the difficulties of her youth have kept her from marrying, which most of her neighbours have noticed. The case that pulls them into each other's company is the worst Garon has worked: a child predator has escaped, the earlier victims are all dead, and one of them survived. She is the only person who can identify him, and she is also the woman Garon has been getting to know.

The novel moves between the ranch Garon has bought and the case that keeps taking him away from it.
