Kiss of Crimson

Kiss of Crimson is a 2007 paranormal romance by Lara Adrian and the second book in the Midnight Breed series. It was published by Dell as a 387-page paperback, and the subjects attach vampires, Breedmates, alpha males and paranormal romance to the work. The series is built around a group of vampire warriors and the human women they bond with.

The plot begins with rescue. Tess Culver finds a bullet-riddled stranger and treats him, not knowing that Dante is a member of the Breed, and the act of saving him draws her into a conflict she has no part in. Dante is described as haunted by visions of a dark future and as someone who lives as though there is no tomorrow, which makes Tess a complication he does not want and cannot avoid. The bond between them begins in the moment she treats him, and it does not leave either of them a way to refuse it.

His problem is that the danger to her comes partly from him, since the bond established by a single kiss means that he must protect her from a threat that includes his own nature, while his comrades are under attack at the same time.
