It's in His Kiss
Gareth St.
About
It's in His Kiss is a historical romance by the American writer Julia Quinn, published in 2005. It is the seventh of the Bridgerton novels, which follow the eight brothers and sisters of a large Regency family.
Gareth St. Clair is facing a problem that has nothing to do with marriage. His father dislikes him and is working to beggar the family estates and to leave him with nothing, and the only thing Gareth has been given is an old family diary that may contain the truth about his origins.
The diary is written in Italian, which he does not speak, so he has to find somebody to read it for him. The person who agrees to do it is Hyacinth Bridgerton, who is known to the whole of fashionable London for being clever and outspoken, and who is described by Gareth as probably best taken in small doses.
The two of them work through the diary together, and the novel follows what the reading turns up, and what the two of them come to mean to each other in the process.
