Inferno
Robert Langdon wakes in a Florence hospital with a head injury and no memory of the days before it, repeating a phrase in his sleep: seek and find.
About
Inferno is a mystery thriller by the American writer Dan Brown, published on 14 May 2013 by Doubleday and the fourth novel in his Robert Langdon series.
Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon wakes up in a hospital in Florence with a head wound and no memory of the previous days, and the only clue he has to the missing time is a phrase he has been repeating in his sleep. When an armed woman arrives at the hospital looking for him, a doctor, Sienna Brooks, helps him get away, and the two of them are drawn into a pursuit across Italy and beyond that is built around Dante's Divine Comedy, its imagery of punishment, and a plan to answer the pressure of human population growth with one terrible act. The book follows immediately after The Lost Symbol and sends Langdon through the palazzi and monuments of Florence and Venice while he reconstructs what he had been doing before he lost the days.
Brown's Langdon novels combine art, codes and chases through European cities, and this one was adapted into a film released in 2016.
