Iceberg
Dirk Pitt of the National Underwater and Marine Agency is called away from California to the North Atlantic, where a luxury yacht that vanished years earlier has been found frozen inside an iceberg.
About
Iceberg is an adventure novel by the American writer Clive Cussler, first published in 1975.
Pitt works for a government agency that studies the sea, and it is his commander, Admiral James Sandecker, whose telephone call takes him from the California sun into a deep freeze in the North Atlantic. A luxury yacht that disappeared years earlier has been found locked inside a million tons of ice, on its way to a rendezvous that was arranged in secret. Someone has cut their way into the hull before him, and the crew are dead where they sat. The cargo the ship was carrying is no longer on board, and what it could do in the wrong hands is the reason the case does not stay an accident.
The plot turns on what a ship can carry and who wants it, and the investigation moves between the salvage site, the offices of the agency Pitt works for and the people who paid for the voyage.
