House of Flame and Shadow
Bryce Quinlan never expected to see a world other than Midgard, and now that she has, all she wants is to get back to it: her family, her friends and her mate are all there.
About
House of Flame and Shadow is a fantasy romance by the American writer Sarah J. Maas, published in 2024. It is the third book of her Crescent City series, after House of Earth and Blood and House of Sky and Breath.
Bryce Quinlan has been thrown out of Midgard, the world she grew up in and the only one she expected to see, into a place she does not know, and everything she cares about is back in the world she has left: her family, her friends and her mate. Getting home means finding out what she is dealing with and who, if anybody, can be relied on, which is difficult in a place where she has no history and no allies. Hunt Athalar, who spent his life in one kind of trouble or another, is in the deepest of all: after a few short months in which he had everything he wanted, he is back in the dungeons of the Asteri, without his freedom and without any news of what has happened to Bryce. He is desperate to help her, but while the Asteri hold his leash his hands are tied.
The Crescent City books are set in a modern world of technology and magic, and the series follows a large cast of humans, angels and fae across a city divided between them.
